Illinois Auto Truck Co., Inc. (IATCO) was founded in 1939 by Fred Greenberg as an independent truck parts jobber in the Chicagoland area. Early in the 1940’s IATCO began manufacturing and supplying replacement components for the rebuilding of heavy duty clutches. Fred Greenberg’s son-in-law, Leonard F. Stein joined the company in 1946. Later in the 1960’s the truck parts jobbing aspect of Illinois Auto Truck wound down in favor of concentrating on the manufacturing of heavy duty replacement clutch components.
